ON THE SLOPES OF THE AUBISQUE, IN THE UPPER OSSAU VALLEY

Once winter has come to an end, the snow-covered slopes give way to lush green meadows. As from early June, shepherds are often to be seen here and there leading their flocks to the summer pastures of Gourette.
Lower down, in the depths of the Gourzy forest, Eaux-Bonnes is a surprising town with its Second Empire and English garden style, a heritage linked to the spa activity which started there as early as the 19th century.
With the little villages of Aas and Assouste, Eaux-Bonnes Gourette, in the heart of the upper Ossau valley, benefits from all the attractions of the mountain: breathtaking panoramic views, bracing air and its long-renowned health-giving waters.
FISHING, CYCLING, HIKING, CLIMBING – LEISURE ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE
The rivers and neighbouring mountain lakes are ideal for trout-fishing.

The bicycle reigns supreme, in the roadster version for all enthusiasts, for whom the Aubisque pass, a legendary stage of the Tour de France, is an absolute must, or in the free ride version for mountain bikers who have no hesitation in swooping down the ski slopes!
The territory of Eaux-Bonnes Gourette, crossed by the GR 10 hiking trail, is an ideal setting for numerous races and the starting point for many hiking trails, family outings and thematic walks.
Finally, the cwm of Gourette offers endless possibilities for climbers – from beginners to experienced mountaineers.
